What is an adjustable curtain hook
The adjustable hook attaches to the top of each pleat and clips into the curtain rail rings or gliders. Ours is made from strong white plastic and includes 15 height levels built into the hook itself, giving a total adjustment range of 5 to 6 centimetres. Instead of sitting at one fixed position, the hook can be moved up or down along these levels to raise or lower that section of the curtain after it has been hung.
This means the final hanging height is not locked in the moment the curtain leaves our workshop. You keep a small amount of control once the curtains are actually on your rail, in your room, under your own light.
The hook only moves in one direction once it is set into a level. To raise the curtain again after it has been lowered, you do not push it back up from below. Instead, you push the hook all the way out at the bottom, then insert it again from the top and set it into the level you want. It is a simple motion once you know it, and it keeps the mechanism strong and reliable rather than loose.
Why this matters in real homes
Two situations come up often. The first is uneven height across a window. Many homes, especially those with older, characterful architecture, have a rail that sits slightly higher on one side than the other, or a floor that is not perfectly level from left to right. With a fixed hook, this shows up immediately as one side of the curtain looking longer or shorter than the other. With our adjustable hook, each pleat can be raised or lowered independently, so the bottom edge lines up evenly across the full width, even if the wall or floor does not.
The second situation is personal preference around the curtain to floor distance. By default, we make curtains to kiss the floor, meaning the hem sits just a few centimetres above it rather than touching or dragging on it. Exactly how many centimetres feels right is different for everyone, and it can be hard to judge the ideal look from a measurement alone. The adjustable hook gives a bit of flexibility after installation, so you can hang the curtain, see how it falls in the room, and fine-tune from there. If you would prefer the curtain to actually brush the floor, that is a different finish and needs to be specified when you order, since it changes the base length rather than something the hook alone can adjust into.
How much adjustment is possible

A curtain pleat is sewn and shaped to a specific structure, and large adjustments would pull the fabric out of that shape and make the pleat look loose or uneven.
